Tubal Ligation Reversal in Hong Kong

Tubal ligation is a procedure that involves cutting or blocking a woman’s fallopian tube to prevent pregnancy permanently. When the woman changes her mind about the procedure, she can undergo a Tubal Ligation Reversal. Tubal ligation reversal reopens and reconnects the blocked or cut segment of your fallopian tube and allows you to get pregnant naturally again. There are several factors to determine how successful this procedure will be, including age, body mass index, how much of the fallopian tube is left undamaged, general fertility, and overall health conditions. In general, the procedure can only be done if you had only small parts of your fallopian tubes removed.

Before the procedure, you and your partner are required to complete a physical exam to find out if there is any condition that will keep you from getting pregnant after the procedure. During the procedure, you are given general anesthesia. Your doctor uses robotic or laparoscopic surgical equipment. Using the laparoscope, your doctor can determine if you have enough fallopian tubes left. If everything looks healthy, the surgery will begin. The damaged sections of your fallopian tubes and any devices in your fallopian tubes are removed. Then, stitches are used to reattach the undamaged ends of your fallopian tubes to the uterus.

It takes 2 to 3 hours for the procedure to be completed. You may be able to leave the hospital around 2 to 4 hours after the surgery. However, some women will need to stay in the hospital for 1 to 3 days. After you are discharged from the hospital, stay in the Hong Kong for at least 1 to 2 weeks. In general, the recovery period takes around 1 to 2 weeks until you can get back to your normal activities. During this time, you may feel pain and tenderness around the incision. The success rate varies between 50% to 80%.
